Creator of Somatic Focusing

Andrea Isaacs is an emotional intelligence and mindset coach for conscious and high-performing CEOs, entrepreneurs and thought leaders wanting success, freedom and joy in all areas of life.

She started creating embodiment practices that increase emotional intelligence (EQ) in 1994. There are two tracks, EnneaMotion, using simple movement exercises to embody the gifts of each Enneagram personality type, and Somatic Focusing, a coaching modality.

The Enneagram and Somatic Focusing modalities are backed up by neuroscience principles because they create new neural pathways for a broader range of thinking, feeling and behavior patterns. This is an essential foundation for increasing your “emotional palette” and therefore your emotional intelligence. Like increasing the size and colors of a painter’s palette, this gives you more options to choose from which is essential when you’re confronted with challenging people and situations. This work re-patterns your sub-conscious, supporting you in your next steps of reaching your goals and dreams with an ease you never thought possible.

The Enneagram (ennea means nine in Greek) elegantly describes nine different patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviors, each with a predictable set of gifts and challenges.

Somatic Focusing is a fast, effective and lasting method that will improve how you communicate, lead, and connect with others. It will improve all of your relationships and give you a new ease in accomplishing your goals and dreams. It is a form of emotional alchemy, but instead of transforming lead into gold, it transforms ineffective or disempowering patterns to effective and empowering patterns.

Created in 1995.

Somatic Focusing was created by Andrea Isaacs in an EnneaMotion group retreat that she taught in 1995. An exercise reminded a participant of her abusive father. Her early life experience caused her even later in life to keep to herself, not express her wants, needs or opinions and to be as invisible as possible. It was difficult to know where she stood on any issue. She was reluctant to take any leadership role. This was important and kept her safe when she was young. As an adult, it became a pattern she no longer needed but didn’t think it was even possible to change.

Andrea created a unique exercise and guided this participant in a process that helped her create a new empowering pattern with a new neural pathway to replace the old, limiting pattern. The exercise guided her in following her body’s wisdom, and culminated in a “custom-designed” power phrase: “I have a sturdy core, and my opinions matter.”

This shifted how she showed up in all areas of life. She stepped into a leadership position at work. She could hold her ground and speak up for herself when challenged. She believed that she mattered.

Validated by SCIENCE.

This unique modality and protocal was initially called, “Integrative Change,” and Andrea later re-named it as “Somatic Focusing” in 1995.

Andrea trained thousands around the world since that time in this new protocal.

Collaborations in 2012 and 2014 with neuroscience researcher, Dario Nardi, in his Brain Lab, validated that Somatic Focusing brings wholeness and inner peace to the brain.

Andrea Isaacs’ “Emotional Mastery” training program, created in 2008, trains people to teach EnneaMotion and to coach using Somatic Focusing principles. It also includes certification in delivering the EQ Quiz Assessments (The Emotional Mastery Breakthrough Sessions).

Andrea has been a pioneer bridging body wisdom, the Enneagram, emotional intelligence and neuroscience, teaching, coaching, training and speaking about her original work, including EnneaMotion, Somatic Focusing and the EQ Quiz, to thousands of people in over 20 countries over the past 20+ years.
